Across the country, there are a huge number of industries and products that rely on welding. Used in the construction of everything from public transport to high-tech skyscrapers, welding is an essential process that can be done in a variety of ways. At DB Sheetmetals here in Haverhill, we have a wealth of experience in welding for industries such as entertainment, agriculture, retail and architecture, to name a few. We are always happy to discuss your bespoke projects, offering advice as to which type of welding would be the best fit for your needs.

Three Types of Welding

From our manufacturing base in Suffolk, we can offer our clients three different types of welding, to suit your needs. Our Spot Welding process is resistance based and primarily used to weld two or more metal sheets together, by applying pressure and heat from an electric current. The remaining types of welding are completed using gas: Metal Insert Gas (MIG) and Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG). MIG welding is used for aluminium and is a semi-automatic process, with our skilled professionals controlling the travel speed and position, and a power source in control of the wire feed rate and arc length. In comparison, TIG welding is operated with a constant current power source, to avoid excessively high currents when the electrode is short-circuited onto the surface of the metal.

Cutting, Punching and Powder Coating

Our welding processes are far from the limit of our metal provisions; we can also fabricate sheet metals and provide quality services in CNC punching, laser cutting, automatic fastener installation and powder coating. Each of our processes is carried out in our high-tech facility, using the latest cutting-edge machinery and technology. Should you wish to combine any of these services, we can work with our clients to create a tailor-made program, to potentially complete full product assembly.
