Machinery can be used to perform a wide variety of processes within the manufacturing industry – and metal fabrication is no exception to this. As techniques have developed and become more refined over the years, advanced automated machinery now plays a large part in the sheet metal fabrication process. At DB Sheetmetals in Haverhill, Suffolk, we’re constantly investing in the technology we use within our workshop, in order to create high-quality products for our customers. Here, we’ve written a handy guide to some of the cutting-edge machinery we use at our facility:

Laser Cutting

Today’s laser cutters focus a laser beam on a targeted area, in order to produce a precise metal cut. Our Amada LC-2415 Alpha IV laser cutting machinery is one of the most accurate models available, allowing us to precisely cut sheet metal with a clean, smooth-edged finish.

CNC Punching

Used to punch uniformed holes through sheet metals, punching is now an automated technique due to advanced computer programmed technology. Our EM MII Series offers the flexibility to produce high-quality and complex designs, at a rapid pace.

Fastener Insertion

Our PEMSERTER® Series 2000® automatic fastener installation system provides us with the means to install all types of self-clinching fasteners within thin-metal sheets. Using a programmable logic controller and advanced touch screen interface, our team can produce rapid and reliable fastener insertion.

Press Braking

Taking the process of bending sheet metals to the next level, our Amada HFE 3i Series machinery is the latest in press brake technology. With a built-in wireless angle measuring system, our operators can ensure a seamless angle control that leads to a superior finish.
